Our New Home.
Oscar and I have been thinking about buying our own home for quite a while now, only now its a reality. We looked for about 5 or 6 months before we finally got a realtor. A really good family friend shared her Realtors information with us, and soon after that we met 2 of the three. The group is a father daughter organization. We loved it right away. They set us up online to look at houses. The very next weekend we went and looked at some of the houses on our list. Now, the reason for going so soon was that we got a call from our realtor informing us of a home that’s price just dropped $39k, and she actually had a family turn down this offer. Pam (daughter) was really excited for us to look at it. She had her father, Don, show us the house. We fell in love with it right away. Of course we didn’t want to jump to conclusions, we weren’t about to be first time home buyers buying the first house they saw, that’s just not us. We went and looked at about 5 other homes that night, these homes were foreclosures however. For the price we were looking at this would be the only house that wasn’t foreclosed on or in the process of foreclosing. We got my parents to come and look at the house with us, and we also showed them two other houses so they could compare. All of the adults gave us the ‘think about it’ talk before we went home that night. We sat up all night thinking about what our decision would be the next day. There was no rush at all. The moment i woke up i called Don and told him we wanted the first house we saw. I felt so stupid saying that but i knew it was the right thing. We decided that it would be smarter to go for the house and not get it than not go for it and regret it. That Saturday after our 3-d Ultrasound appt we went and signed all the necessary paperwork to put an offer on the house. We waited until the night the seller got home to send the offer, we would then wait for their response. The following Tuesday, I got a voicemail on my cell phone around 1:30 from Don saying he needed to talk to me! I was terrified. I waited until Oscar got off of work to call him back just so that i could call him and tell him right away. I called Don back and he said “Well there’s two things, they accepted your offer..(long pause)..but they will need to stay in the house until August 15th, now they will be paying you rent for the time that they are there, but it’s up to you whether you wan to accept their offer.”….this is where i am speechless. I couldn’t breath….if i weren’t at work i would have screamed at the top of my lungs. I said YEs that sounds wonderful, not a problem. He said okay now go call everyone you need to call and call me back so we can talk about it. So i call Oscar and he says no way, for real..then is speechless for about 5 minutes. I could hear the smile on the other end of the line. Once i called everyone I had to give Don a call back.  He is making me a month long plan for everything we will need to do along the way. We will be closing July 31st and moving in two weeks later. My due date is August 22nd, so we will see how everything works out. Today is June 30th, the Home Inspection and the Pest Inspection will be done today. Oscar will be meeting them at the house to sign off on everything! We are so excited. The house is beautiful. There is so much to do to get a new house and so many more bills once you have your own home, but we have figured out exactly how everything will work and still have a back up plan! Cant wait to see our lil girl and move into our first home!

{Week 30} Yesterday was Father’s day, Oscar’s first and my dad’s first as a grandfather-to-be!! It was a pretty exciting day! It started out with Oscar’s breakfast in bed! He loved it! He says he felt like a king! It was very exciting to say Happy Father’s Day to him! We went to my parents house to spend the day with my dad! The three of us girls snuck off to go get the garden plants that we were planning to put in for a Father’s Day surprise! We got back just in time to start dinner and plant the beautiful flowers! I was getting so hot that i made the boys go to the store and buy me a swimming pool. All i wanted to do all week was swim!! I finally got my pool! I love it! Its a little kid pool and i was the only one who would go in because everyone else said it was too cold!! They only dipped their feet in! It was a very good weekend! My mom planted all of the beautiful flowers! We got a lot of vine plants and really bright colors that look great in the flower boxes! The backyard is really starting to look beautiful!

Weeks 27-29
{Week 27}

Memorial Day weekend was freezing cold..it rained all weekend and thru half of the week! We took advantage of the cold weather and got little Ms. Khyla’s crib set up. We are still waiting on her bedding!!! Cant wait for that to get here! Getting the crib up took us a while because we didnt know which screws went where..it was very entertaining!! I also had Chaney and Oscar move some of the heavy furniture around that ended up being super heavy so i had to buy them lunch in return!! I also had to go take my Gestational Diabetes test this week….ick i had to drink an orange floride tasting drink and wait an hour to see what my blood sugar level was. They also tested my blood for any other diseases! Results wil be back at next weeks appointments. Our lil girl is moving more and more these days! It feel like she is doing backflips in there….she is practicing her karate is how we like to think of it.
{Week 28}
First i have to start this week off with the fact that we went and got our marriage paperwork this week! We tried to get the marriage done on Wed but the office was closed! OH well!! We had a doctors appointment earlier that day…all of the tests came back fine…no diabetes or any other diseases! Doctor says Khyla is growing wonderfully!! She is getting pretty big and he says we are at a good weight! Now for the bad news…i cant sleep. This is really nothing new but i can sleep for longer periods of time..which means im having a hard time falling back to sleep now! My belly is getting bigger an im starting to show a lot more! Everyone is starting to ask me the sex of the baby and when im due…also everyone seems to think i look like im having twins. I remember this one lady walked into my workplace and told me i was starting to look fat..like i gained a lot fo weight…i had never met this lady in my entire life! This week this lady came in and told me that i make pregnancy look good…YAY!! Thats always good news when you dont feel that way!
{Week 29}

WE GOT MARRIED!!! It was amazing. I cried when he was doing his vows!! We got to exchange rings unexpectedly but were glad we did! I am now Mrs. Magpantay! We got married on a Friday and then took a family trip to Battle Mountain for my cousins graduation. We got to see my family that we havent seen in a long while! I also got to introduce my husband to everyone for the first time. It was very heartwarming to see everyone being so kind. The weather was freezing when teh wind would blow and then when the wind stopped and the clouds went away it felt like a hot summer day!  We also got a great picture with my great grampa! The picture has 4 generations an the 5th clearly on the way.On our way back from Battle Mountain we stopped at this really cool house this man had built from many everyday items! IT was well preserved and was very neat to look at. As soon as the sun hit the mountains, and i mean right as the sun hit the mountains the mesquitoes attacked! They attacked us like they had never attacked before, they even bit throuhg our clothes. I was wearing two layers of shirts and they bit my belly 4 times! My dad got many battle wounds as did my husband, they were both wearing shorts! We have also started the intense planning for the babyshower this week and made our final list. We figured out that we wil be invititing 145 people and will most deffinetly need a bigger party space. I looked around and finally found a park close to my parents house that is just amazing.  We are finally done with our Child preparedness class…now we are on the lookout for a good pediatrician in town!

{26 Weeks. 5-22-08}
So its been about three weeks and not too much has happened. We have been staying home as i am trying to catch up on my never ending sleep deprivement. Everyone keeps telling me its only going to get worse but trust me i cant sleep as it is I’m sure i wont have any problems once she is here. This week we went to the lake since the weather was a scorching 96*. WE took Oscar on the tube for the first time and he loved it. He had so much fun! He was actually scared to even go in the water at first, once he got the hang of it he didn’t want to get off. After tubing we went and sat on the beach for a while and watched a couple dust devils pass by. The weather is acting to strange. The Monday after tubing the entire city was engulfed in a cloud. It got so bad you couldn’t see across town. I got a couple pictures but don’t have then loaded just yet. Ill be sure to post them asap.
I also got my maternity dates set this week. The date if i am on not two weeks early will be 8-15-08 thru 10-6-08. I will only get two weeks paid leave and will only have insurance during September and October. We are trying to pay off all of our small bills so that when i am on leave i wont have too much to pay!

25 weeks.
I am doing good on the energy meter this week, and im hoping it will last but not too sure about that. Last week i had a doctors appointment where we did a medical 3-d ultrasound. Khyla was being super stubborn. She was head down facing my spine which made it really hard to get any good ultrasound pictures! We did get 2 face shots and one more shot confirming its still a Khyla and not a Jhayden. Oh yea i also finally got my insurance last week. I have been without it since January 11th!! Its been really stressful trying to figure out all the bills! And….im getting a bunch of stretchmarks, but thankfully not on my belly just yet!

This is a video that took after we got home from the March for Babies at the Spark Marina. We walked 4 miles today! (4-26-08)

Last week was really busy! Between the wind storms, 4.2 earthquake, snow storm and then 70* weather, Oscar proposed to me! I was pretty much in shock. We had been talking about getting married so he finally made the jump! He seemed pretty nervous but it was the cutest thing ever. We were at our favorite chinese place where we met for dinner right when i got off of work. The very next week we went there and i noticed the previous week after the day he proposed he had been avoiding the topic, so i finally said “So do you really want to get married or what”. Of course  he said he wanted to marry me he was just embarrassed because he couldn’t afford to buy me a ring right now and didnt want to tell me, i already knew this considering we are 23 weeks pregnant and trying to save up for the baby. We both already have promise rings i guess is what we can call them. He gave me my ring a year ago and i gave him his ring on our 1 year anniversary which was New Years. We decided that we would wait to get me a new ring, and he said he was ok with keeping his ring for the wedding ring since it looks like one anyway. So at the end of dinner we always ask a question before we open our fortune cookies, we are funny like that. So my question was ‘will Oscar and i really get married.’ The fortune came out saying “A NEW VOYAGE WILL FILL YOUR LIFE WITH UNTOLD MEMORIES”. Personally i took that as a yes, and just as he did when we found out we were preggo Oscar chuckled!

Last week was also when Uncle Bodie brought the entire family up for a visit. We had so much fun. We all stayed at my parents house and played we pretty much the entire time. Katelyn Marie loved my belly the entire time. Once she saw it and we explained i had a baby in there she couldnt part with Khyla. She was telling her stories and kissing her, even telling her jokes. I brought my heart monitor over so that everyone could here Khyla’s little heart at work. Katelyn thought it was amazing. She fell asleep listening to Khyla’s heart “beeping”. It was just the most adorable thing. Tyson was scared to touch the belly as are all the other guys in the family! Oh yea Bodie brought the crib up last week too! It’s going to stay in my dads garage for a while since i don’t have any way of getting it to our house.

Here is a video at 21 weeks of Khyla kicking right after i had a bowl of cereal. Oscar was sleeping when i did this video and he kept moving so  you might hear me yell at him! He doesnt remember any of this! It’s A Girl!!!! Her name will be Khyla Rachelle Magpantay. We are so excited. When we found out i was telling the lady how “he” wasn’t moving around very much today and right when i finished my sentence she says “Oh so you think its a boy huh, well here ya go…’ , at that point she showed us her lil girl parts. I had no idea what i was looking at, everyone else did of course. Grama Glenda screams out “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” while Grama Linda asks if there could be any boy junk hiding and waiting to come out, the lady assured us it was a girl. She tried to get some pictures of her face but our lil girl is stubborn. She didn’t want any pictures taken of her, so she kept covering her face! Fortunately we did get some good pictures and a nice video to take home. I would upload it but i haven’t figured that part out yet! We Will be posting more pictures as we take them!
